CareerGPS 2009 ‐Career Exploration Day at the New San Juan High School
October 27, 2009 8 am‐12 pm 7551 Greenback Lane, Citrus Heights, CA 95610 Students from the following middle schools will participate: Will Rogers Middle School, Arcade Middle School, and Sylvan Middle School CareerGPS 2009 will provide over 1,000 middle and high school students from four schools in the San Juan Unified School District the opportunity to navigate career opportunities available through the distinct career pathways in five different industry sectors featured at the New San Juan High School, one of the Sacramento region’s newest, theme‐based high schools: Transportation Technology/Infrastructure, Building and Construction Technology, Engineering and Design, Hospitality and Culinary Arts, Media Arts/Television/Theater Production. High School students will leave with a better understanding of the necessary skills, training requirements, and educational pathways for their field of interest. Middle school students will have a better understanding of the available career exploration opportunities at their feeder high school and will be better prepared to make an informed decision about their academic pathways.
